How to embed video to blog system and SNS websites like Wordpress, Myspace and Facebook?

You have a private blog on blogger.com, blog.com, livejournal.com, typepad.com, wordpress.com or any other blog provider. And want to embed your favorite videos onto those blogs. Now that you don’t need to worry about embedding videos to blog and SNS websites like Myspace, facebook, with Higosoft Web Player, embeding videos onto those blogs could be a snap. Just copy and paste the embedding html code generated by Higosoft Web Player to your blog and modify the dwplayer.swf file path according to the actual file path on web server.

Prerequisite for embedding videos onto blog using Higosoft Web Player

1. Have a web server to host the generated files created by Higosoft Web Player.

2. The blog system or SNS website support editing html code when adding the content.

Using Higosoft Web Player for Mac, this software will generate a output folder containing some necessary files and other supplementary resources which are provided for smoothly displaying the output video online. Here below is a detailed illustration about the output folder.

dwplayer.swf: It’s the actual flash video player, which will show onto your webpage.

dwplayer.html:On where, you could view the results of your customized flash video player and could get the embed code of it (everything about the flash video player also can be modified via the embed code).

medialist.xml:It’s the playlist file. Everything about the playlist can be modified via this file.

Steps about embedding videos to personal blog on blog service provider system

Step 1: Use Higosoft Web Player for Mac to publish videos in amazing web video player on local computer.

Step 2: After publishing videos to local computer, Higosoft Web Player for Mac will generate a output folder containing some main files and other resources just shown like the above screenshot. Upload the output files to your web server using FTP client. In this example, we will upload all files to “demo6” folder. and all the generated files by Higosoft Web Player for Mac are stored in “/flash/demo6”, here the first forward slash “/” represents web server root.

Step 3: Log into your personal blog account, here I will use my account on blog.com as an example to show how to fulfill the embedding process. Once you log into blog.com, click “Add new” to add a new post and swtich to “html” editing mode just by clicking “HTML” button. Open up the html file dwplayer.html generated by Higosoft Web Player for Mac, and copy and paste a snippet of html code like the below to blog.com editing area under “HTML” mode.

Step 4: In order to correctly display the video on blog, you should alter the dwplayer.swf file path marked in red in the above html code according to it actual file path on web server. In this example, the dwplayer.swf file path should be changed to be the absolute file path “http://www.web-player.us/flash/demo6/dwplayer.swf”. Thus the embedding html code on blog.com should be look like the following:

Step 5: Click “Publish” to publish the post, then you can view the videos that are embedded into personal blog on blog.com. The example could be viewed HERE.
